Gillian to play Warren Hellman tribute concert
A Warren Hellman tribute concert is planned for Sunday, Feb. 19, in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. It will be a two-stage, one-day event in the style of Hellman’s wildly popular Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. Hellman, who passed away late last year at the age of 77, is best known for funding the free bluegrass festival almost completely out of his own pocket every year since 2001, calling it his “selfish gift” to the city. Gillian and Dave will be joined by Old Crow Medicine Show, Emmylou Harris, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, and Warren’s own band, The Wronglers. More details to follow!

In-Depth Interview with John Dyer Baizley
Redefine Magazine recently did an interview with the artist John Dyer Baizley, who created the album cover artwork for The Harrow & The Harvest.
“Gillian is great at building narratives within her songs and in finding an implied storyline across the course of her records. Clearly, any complimentary artwork would include elements of the pastoral and Gothic allegories for which Gillian is so renowned. ”

“It’s a little weird to feel like veterans in the scene. I’m not really used to that, but I’ll take it. I feel like we’ve staked out some really good ground where now there are a lot of people. It’s kind of a party.” READ THE COVER STORY
